Tom began his professional in 1991 when he joined 3M in Minnesota. There, he was encouraged to gain experience in all areas of the supply chain across multiple industries. This broad and deep exposture taught how the varied parts of a company must fit together just as well as its products balance. During this period Tom also earned his APICS CPIM certification and won 3M's largest award twice. As an early proponant of recycling, he lead the establishment of 3M's local recyling initiatives and subsequently helped spearhead it's company-wide initiatives, earning him another award.

This success lead to his leadership role in the design, implementation and optimization of ERP packages in planning, sourcing, capacity modeling, forecasting, inventory optimization and S&OP functions.

Tom's carrer then took him to Celestica where he undertook the role of Program Manager for the fastest and largest computer in the world (at that time). Tom left Celestica to join CR Bard in the medical device industry - his first exposure to a regulated industry. While there, he took a Class D ERP plant to Class A status in 18 months. He was then assigned global leadership, and tasked to assist other plants with improving their supply chain. His contributions then led to a role that spanned responsibilities of Plant Manager and Director of Supply Chain. During this perioad he he also led the integration of operations and supply chain for multiple acquisitions.

Tom is recognized for his ability to re-make a client's underperforming supply chain into a “next level” performer. He has the in depth experience in ERP, planning and forecasting systems to transform a system and dramatically improve it's performance. This is possible because he doesn't just use the system … he understands the underlying logic. Tom's background also includes consulting on a new ERP package (Masterplan) where he developed its MRP engine along with other components.

Tom's career also includes sourcing, initiating and managing contract manufacturing. His proven abilities include identifying savings opportunities during contract formation, which not only improves unit cost but additionally establishes better terms delivering improved cashflow.

Tom earned a BS degree from the University of Minnesota and is working on his final dissertation for an MBA. Tom is married with 2 adult children and two grandchildren. Free time is often spent four-wheeling and exploring the history of the Arizona desert.
